Descriere proiect

The Butterfly Effect training course brings together 30 people and 10 trainers, proffesionals and support staff from 10 countries (CZ, AT, BE, DE, CH, HU, IT, ES, RO, UK) for 10 working days (15th –- 24th August 2011) to the Skalka 22 centre to learn skills for activities supporting sustainability and to experience a light-weight community-like event whilst in close contact to nature.

The main theme of the course is ‘sustainability in daily life’, a theme that will be examined with a holistic approach on various levels using different learning methods. Participants will have the chance to experience life in nature with a low impact on the environment. The course includes typical non-formal learning methods such as group work, workshops, simulations, brainstormings, reflections and excursions to gain knowledge and skills. Alongside the training sessions there are nature-based experiential methods included which are based on techniques used by various ancient cultures and indigenous people.

The main objectives of the project are to learn about sustainability on a theoretical and practical level, deepen the understanding of interdependency with nature, practise and learn about living in conditions with low impact on environment in a community style, share experience and knowledge about nature and sustainability, learn practical skills for light-weight living and camping, experience and learn about nature-based methods supporting self-development, use the example of Skalka centre and community for learning and reflection about sustainability in practice, empower participants for future initiatives, activities and projects.
